CLEVELAND — It’s Week #11 of ‘Friday Night Touchdown’ and that means it’s time for the 2013 OHSAA Playoffs.

Friday night featured 25 games across Northeast Ohio, in Divisions II, III, IV, and VI.

All eyes were on Akron, where the #1 team in the FOX 8 Top-8, St. Vincent-St. Mary (11-0) began its run toward a second straight Division III State Championship.

The Irish did not miss a beat, routing overmatched Kenston 52-7.  With the win, St. V&M advances to the Region 7 Semifinals against Poland Seminary (10-1), which came back to win at West Geauga, 29-28.

In Division II, the top-seeded Glenville Tarblooders (10-1) cruised to a 35-0 win over a tough Brush squad, with Ohio State Head Coach Urban Meyer looking on from the sidelines.

Glenville has now won 10-straight games since a season-opening setback against St. Edward (9-1).  The Tarblooders advance to play Bedford (10-1) a 21-14 winner over Kent Roosevelt.  It was the Bearcats’ first ever OHSAA Playoff victory.

First round Playoff action continued Saturday with Divisions I, V and VII taking the field.

The big game was at historic Fawcett Stadium, where 11-time State Champion St. Ignatius (7-4) routed perennial power Canton McKinley (9-2), 38-14.

The Wildcats advance to face Hudson (10-1) a 31-7 winner over 2012 State Finalist Toledo Whitmer.
