  • NEVER GIVE UP HOPE! YOU CAN achieve your weight goals WITHOUT gimmicks! My journey started at home & never once stepped into a gym...... I used to look in the mirror & be completely embarrassed of what I always seen. I was tired of being a man, upset about how over-weight I was. I knew it was time to make a change. I didn't think I could do it . Only 18 Months ago! I never had anyone to cheer me on going through the loosing weight process, but I'm so glad I stuck to my guns and continued on! My life feels so much more healthier, I can be the best father I can be n keep up now! It's a great feeling - -But one thing didn't change - - My ego, I'm still the same old guy I used to be, but with 100 more confidence. Being overweight all your life can be changed with the correct willpower!! BUT NOW... I can keep up with my kids, I can wear size Med even size small undershirts, not 3X,4X. I'm extremely proud of myself to loose the weight. If you ever get discouraged, think about your goals - especially when your exercising n get out your frustration in your workout. This is a great lifestyle change. Take a look at my pictures, the difference. Don't ever give up! DO NOT USE A WEIGHT SCALE FOR THE FIRST SIX MONTHS! I sound crazy saying this but, it creates less distraction - you won't become down as you don't see the pounds coming off, but the 'cells' are turning to muscle also.... I started with 10 sit ups a day sixteen months ago, continued to gradually increase the sits up! Started using barbells! Reps twice a day for 12 months only doing 100 in the morning 100 at night ..I lost over 183 Pounds! I still ate what I wanted, but it's what I want to work off! I never though I'd have a six pack, but this hasn't taken long at all! I was too over weight to even tie my shoes or walk up the stairs without sweating! If anyone is reading this who was me a year and a half ago! Start with basic situps! I'm a father of three! So were always busy! If you can eat a bag of chips, you can afford 5 minutes a day for sit ups ...No one ever though I would loose the weight! Next time you look in the mirror – remember everyone is beautiful in there own way, but if you understand you may have a weight loss goal – Give it a shot, NEVER GIVE UP! BTW - No Shakes, nothing extra. Only vitamins! C,D,B12.. P.S. Always DRINK WATER!

  • I lost the weight on the Weight Watchers plan. The before picture is from 2001 and the skinny picture is from 2008. I've gained back about 15 lbs since then, but still do Weight Watchers so I won't return to my 200+ lb weight. While my weight fluctuates, my lifestyle has changed. I am no longer a couch potato but love to run and do exercise classes. That is a healthy change for life.

  • I lost the weight using fitness apps to track diet and exercise. No gimmicks just hard work. I used MyFitnessPal and Nike+. Since Jan 31st, I've been taking part in an Infinite Labs fitness challenge and have gained lean muscle while holding my weight steady.

  • I am here to tell you that all of your hard work and determination will pay off in the end! The only person to blame for how big or how small you are is yourself. If you wholeheartedly put in the work and don't cheat, diet and exercise alone can change your life forever! Ive lost 105 Pounds in 18 months with no surgeries and no health problems. If you want to know the real secret to weight loss its not pills and supplements, or starvation, and its most defiantly not surgery unless this secret is consciously acknowledged far to late. The secret is not to lie to yourself. If you are gaining weight it is because you are eating more calories on a daily basis than you are burning daily. This will always be true!!! NO FDA Approval Needed! Eat 2000 calories, burn 2500 calories, lose weight! Eat 2500 calories, burn 2000 calories, gain weight! Please don't blow this off!!! all you will ever need to know about weight loss is right here! All it takes is YOU!!!

  • I gained a lot of weight while enduring an abusive marriage. My goal after divorce was to get myself and my life back. I had gastric bypass surgery and have never looked back. I am so happy to be me again! I went from 280 lbs to 109 lbs.

  • I have lost over 100 lbs through Celebrity Trainer Joshua Lipsey`s core concepts method and his app Gym Tuck.I am leaner all over my body and my stomach hasn`t looked this good even before pregnancy! My diet revolves around eating a 70% alkaline to 30% acidic ratio.

  • I lost 50 lbs! I had always been chubby ever since I was a child. I'd always had a BMI that shouted "OVERWEIGHT!" at me. Finally, my fiance and I decided to get on the road to fitness and we have been so much happier ever since. We cut out soda, started eating better and exercising. We were miserably before, but being healthy really does make you feel better about your life and everything you're doing in it. I never thought I'd be able to lose the weight; I thought I'd be doomed to be fat forever. Here's the proof anyone can do it though!

  • Here is a before and after. I'm not 170 anymore, I am skinnier now, 139!

  • I got engaged in February 2012 and decided I wanted to look my absolute best walking down the aisle. I joined a NuLife Fitness Camp, a local bootcamp weight loss program. NuLife helped me learn how to eat properly and encouraged me to exercise three or more times a week. The before pic was taken in February 2012 and the after pic April 2013. I lost more than 40lbs and I've successfully kept it off and still have more work to do! The key for me was completely changing my diet.

  • I began my weight loss journey in January 2013. I bought a treadmill and started walking (very slowly at first). Eventually, my stamina grew and today I run 3-4 miles, 4 days per week! I cut out all processed foods and committed to eating a clean diet. I didn't have surgery or use diet pills....just good ol' fashioned hard work! Trust me, if I can do it, anyone can!!

  • I tilted the scale at a shocking 323lb my journey began there. In one year I competed in 2 biggest loser challenges at work and placed 1st place in both competitions The picture is exactly one year and 100 lbs

  • I spent my life looking for the easy way to loose weight. I finally realized that I just need to go old school. I dropped 166 lbs. in 343 days. Changing my diet and exercise routine. I do have a very detailed plan that I followed and still do but its to lengthy to share on this forum. The top picture was May of 2012, the bottom picture was August of 2013. I started my Life change on August of 2012. The best part of this life change is that I went form an out of control diabetic to having complete control to the point that I do not take any medication what so ever. Dr. said you no longer need to see me for the diabetes as long as you continue with the life changes that you have put in place.

  • Lost 70 over the course of 2 years

  • 60 pounds lost over one Summer!

  • My fitness/weightloss journey began July 2010. I changed my eating habits and began working out. I completed Hip Hop Abs, Insanity, Jillian Michaels' Body Revolution and more. Now, I am a certified personal trainer hoping to help and inspire others to do what I did and more.

  • The picture on the left is in July and the picture on the right is in September with the help of ACE and the changing of eat habits and a lot of walking i am down 50+ pounds and still a lot more to go!!!

  • This picture shows that hard work and detication pays off. I have stuggled with my weight forever. I tried every diet out there. I lost weight on them but always gained it back and then more. I took matter into my own hands and just ate healthy and started running. I completed two 5ks (something I always wanted to do!) ! I wanted to lose 50 pounds before my 21st birthday and I did it! I wanted to share this photo with others who are struggling with weight loss. It is possible! Don't give up and be patient.

  • Hi, I'm a mom of 3 children ages 6, 8 and 10. I've struggled with my weight on and off since having my first child. I also work full time which made it very difficult to find time to go to to the gym. I started feeling insecure about my weight and I began to feel depressed and started over eating. After a Summer trip to Europe I noticed how everyone was healthy and ate fresh foods daily with limited ingredients. I came back to America and changed my whole diet and began to eat clean and walk daily. I'm happy to say that I've lost 30 pounds, 8 inches of my waist, 2 inches off my bust and 5 inches off my hips.

  • I joined Physicians WEIGHT LOSS Centers following a healthy REAL food diet and a few supplements. I walked almost every day. When I started, I weighed in at 294 and made it to my goal of 154! I have kept it off since 2010 as well!

  • After my car unexpectedly broke down, I started walking everywhere I needed to go. I was walking up to 10 miles a day!

  • Melinda was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes in November 2012. She was 18 years old and weighed 265lbs and was placed on insulin. One year later with proper diet and exercise she has lost over 100lbs and is no longer on any meds for her diabetes. She is very compliant and follows her diet very closely. I am so proud of her and wish others would learn from her.

  • My journey started at the young age of 14 were I had hit my heaviest weight of 294!!! I remember crying when I saw that number on the scale. I always played sports and was active and couldn't understand, all I knew was that I needed to change and fast. I started to change my workout and control my diet. I was at a hight risk for diabetes and was already on diabetic medication. I was morbidly obese and with all the health issues in my family I knew things needed to be different. My journey was long, tiring and I wanted to quit but I also wanted to feel better and be healthier. I had to learn patience. I had to understand that I am only human and sometimes we have our downfalls, and life issues get in the way but you have to get back up and go harder than before. I am the happiest I have ever been. I am also helping others make a difference in their lives as well. I am a fitness instructor/trainer at Title Boxing Club and want to continue to help others lead healthy life styles.

  • I was struggling with losing weight for over 13 years. I went on diet after diet but over the years I kept gaining more and more weight. I went on an extreme HCG diet for over a year, but I was miserable. The weight kept coming back! I did all kinds of stuff to keep off what I'd lost. I was introduced to another line of products that consist of drinking a pink drink. The struggle was over and now I am still losing weight, and feeling healthy.

  • In March 2011 I decided to being my lifestyle change. Weighing in at my heaviest of 280 I am now down 85 pounds!!! Exercise and eating right makes a huge difference! Every day my not be the perfect day but being healthier makes every day perfect!

  • Being an Army Veteran of 13 years served, I was very disappointed to see how my body changed at the age of 38 after having my second child. I have an underactive thyroid and suffer from PCOS and was having a heck of a time losing the weight. At the age of 41, I tried ACE and after only a few weeks on ACE, I knew that I had to become a distributor and share this amazing product ACE gave me enough appetite suppression and energy to help boost my efforts. I lost 16 pounds and 2 pant sizes in my first 8 weeks on ACE and I have kept the weight off over the last couple of months.

  • My Mom brought home a Leslie Sansone "Walk at Home" DVD, We started. I weighed 250 pounds. Started slowly, then threw in actual walking, working out at the rec, and then even slowly running. I am now 159 pounds! 91 pounds lost and still trying to eat right and do a least 3-5 miles a day!

  • I started my weight loss journey with Weight Watchers in 2007. I reached my goal and lifetime status, losing a total of 111.8 pounds, this past Winter. I now work for Weight Watchers as a receptionist, hoping to inspire and assist others on their weight loss journies!

  • In December of last year I decided it was time to make a change. I am a business owner and an elected official in my community (Painesville Twp Trustee), so being in the public eye became embarrassing because of my weight/size. Also, I had two kids under the age of 3 and playing with them took energy that I just didn't have. I knew that if I wanted to be a proud businessman and community leader and most importantly be around to see my kids grow up and be able to play with them, run around in the yard etc., I had to make a change. So, in December of 2012 I decided to stop into CrossFit Painesville, a place .6 of a mile from my house that I drove by EVERYDAY. My life was never the same from that day. I started out doing boot camp a few days week and started to lose weight. From there I decided to graduate up to the CrossFit classes. I rapidly lost weight and got stronger than I have every been in my life. Here I am 11 months later working out 6-7 days a week, eating Paleo and 71lbs lighter and am also now a CrossFit Level 1 trainer. For the first time I LOVE working out, I look forward to it and I love being able to inspire and help others to reach their goals of being healthy and to be a dad my kids can be proud of. I still have some work to do but am on my way!

  • Robyn Caporossi

  • I ate nothing but fruit, vegetables, whole grains, fat free milk, and dairy, fish, chicken and Turkey baked not fried. egg whites, etc. I counted calories and power walked up to 4 miles a day as well as bike ride to work and back every day.

  • I started my weight loss in February 2013. After my sister passed away in December I just wanted to give up. I saw a run over Valentine's Day weekend, just one mile for fun and ever since then I just wanted to run more and more. Now I've lost over 40 pounds and completed a half marathon in under a year! I've inspired those around me to run and also train others in my spare time. All it takes is eating right and some exercise! You can do it!

  • I started my weight loss journey in February of 2013. I joined Anytime Fitness and signed up with a personal trainer. Then I started to take kickboxing, step aerobics, and weight lifting classes. • LOST ALL MY WEIGHT CALORIE COUNTING! I NEVER SET FOOT INSIDE A GYM UNTIL 2WEEKS AGO. I HAVE HAD 5 PREGNANCIES THAT RESULTED IN 3 LIVE BIRTHS! I DID LOTS OF AT HOME WORKOUT VIDEOS AND USED MYFITNESS PAL TO TRACK CALORIES!! :)) STARTING WEIGHT 178 CURRENT WEIGHT 110!

  • After a lifetime of weight-issues, I reached 270lb. Many approaches to weight loss failed and others offered short-lived results. I eventually understood that food was not my enemy, but my greatest ally, so I focused much more in adding high quality foods to my everyday meals instead of depriving myself of "bad" foods. Fueling my body correctly gave the energy to engage in a much more active lifestyle; I ride my bike throughout Northeast Ohio, I run (which I was never able to) and I hit the gym 5 days a week. I've lost about 80lb of fat, and I feel better than ever. I started a blog - healthyroadadventures.blogspot.com - to share some of my favorite recipes, hoping to motivate others, and to keep myself motivated as well.

  • After being a couch potato for many years and being 320Lbs, I decided to look at the back of food packages, count calories, and get off my butt and start weight training and cycling. After 1.5 years I took off 120Lbs and I have never felt better! It is a slow process, but it has been the most rewarding journey of my life and it is has just begun!

  • 208 lbs to 139 lbs

  • I lost 140lbs in 8 months with diet and exercize. High protein, low carb. Started just dancing to music at home for 30 minutes a day then that turned into an hour. Then I took advantage of the gym at work and started using the eliptical for an hour everyday and weight machine. It just melted off. I would have cheat days to reboot my metabolism and jump right back on the diet. I love my new body and am still trying to lose another 40lbs. I went from 315 to 175. I wanted to do this for me but also for my kids. Their dad is a big guy also and it didn't seem fair to them that both of us were too tired to do stuff all the time.

  • My highest weight in Aug. 2011 was 267 . I was diagnosed with severe Degenerative Disc Disease around that time and knew all the extra weight was not helping. I was determined to take some weight off before it came to the point that I would need surgery. Still ended up needing a Lumbar Fusion in Feb. 2012. Still determined to lose weight after that, as of today I am down 140lbs. Brand new back and a new body, I feel great.

  • This is me in high school 310 pounds

  • A year ago Sept. 25th I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and psoriatic arthritis. The doctors had put me on several different types of medications including prednisone which made me want to eat all the time. I ballooned up to 186 pounds. I felt horrible, short of breath, felt ugly, and was in horrible amounts of pain. I knew I needed to make a change, so I changed what I ate. I started to eat healthy, low fat, low carb, higher protein foods. My energy started to get somewhat better, my pain decreased and I feel a lot lighter. I am now at a healthier 135 pounds and have went from a size 14/16 clothing to now a size 6 ;) I hope this helps someone that is in the same situation I was in. Next is to slowly add exercise into my life.

  • All through school I had battles with my weight and I was always ridiculed by my classmates. When I graduated high school I was 5’0” and I weighed 170lbs. After a few years of college and with the passing of my father at a young age due to a heart condition I decided I was going to change my life style, loose the weight I so much hated and put my health first. I started taking personal training classes and changed my lifestyle by eating right and doing the right exercises. After a little time and some weight loss I made it a goal of mine to one day compete in a national fitness/figure competition. Two years later I had lost 68lbs. and dropped down to 11% body fat all with diet and training, no special pills or fad diets just hard work and dedication. On October 6, 2012 I competed at the NPC Natural Northern USA, my first figure competition, and finished in a tied for 3rd in my class. Since then I am a certified personal trainer helping others with their battles with weight loss, and also I am also working towards my new goal of an IFBB Pro Athlete.

After research finding out that all of those can be from being over weight and WILL be worse with being overweight! My friend Michelle Alexander offered to help me learn how to eat right. She is also a personal trainer and zumba instructor and I also did those. Today, I am down 75lbs!!! I feel so much better and my breathing has improved.

Our special five-part weight loss series called ‘The Weight is Over‘  is sharing some inspirational stories from all over Northeast Ohio.
