Christina Adkins’ Family Prays for Justice for Their ‘Loving Angel’
CLEVELAND – The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner has positively identified remains found by the FBI last Friday as Christina Adkins.
Adkins’ remains were identified through DNA analysis.
Christina Adkins, 18, went missing in 1995. Her remains were found along an area of Interstate 90 east and state Route 176 south near the highway overpass.
Christina’s family released the following statement, Friday afternoon:
“While we are saddened to have lost Christina, we are thankful to have finally found her.
Thank you to everyone who has worked so hard to find her, especially the Task Force, FBI, Cleveland Police, and the many family members, friends and neighbors who walked these streets searching for information and hanging up her posters.
Christina was a sweet, kind and loving angel who was never forgotten in the 18 years she was missing. Now we hope and pray for justice to be served.
We ask that everyone please respect our privacy as we mourn the loss of our beloved Christina.”
Elias Acevedo has been charged in Adkins’ murder. The 49-year-old was indicted on 293 counts, including four counts of aggravated murder, on Thursday.
