Services Set for Local Soldier Killed in Afghanistan

CLEVELAND, Ohio — The body of a local soldier killed in Afghanistan will arrive home Monday, with services set for this week, according to his family.

Army Specialist Angel Lopez, 27, of Cleveland, was killed Oct. 5 while serving in Afghanistan. He was to return home in 30 days; Lopez had been stationed in Kentucky, where he lived with his wife and children.

According to his family, his body will arrive at Burke Lakefront Airport Monday morning.

Family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Craciun Berry Funeral Home in Cleveland. Services will be held at noon Wednesday at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church with interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
