Indians Top Twins 12-6 in Wild Card Hunt

MINNESOTA — The Cleveland Indians stayed hot Friday night in their quest to remain in the Wild Card race.

The Indians got off to an impressive offensive start in their second appearance with the Twins in the final series of the regular season. The Tribe scored four before sending Corey Kluber to the mound in the bottom of the 1st with a 4-0 lead.

The Indians kept their bats alive, leading 10-6 heading into the 9th inning. Drew Stubbs homered to left center with a two-out, two-run home run to make it 12-6.

In the 9th inning, Terry Francona sent Matt Albers to the mound to get the job done. It’s the 8th win in a row for the Tribe.

The Indians are now tied with the Rays for 1st in the Wild Card chase.

The Tribe will face the Twins in their third game of a four game series on Saturday. The game will air right here on Fox 8 at 1:00 p.m.
