My Town: Akron Zoo Takes Part in Green Energy Tour

AKRON, Ohio — The Akron Zoo is one of several area organizations participating in this year’s Green Energy Ohio Tour.

The Akron Zoo will be showing off its efforts for the 11th annual Green Energy Ohio Tour on Saturday, October 5, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Participants in the tour will visit various “green” locations around Ohio, including the Crown Point Ecology Center in Bath for a walking tour. The walking tour will showcase the Center’s passive solar heating system, community gardens and ecology center.

The event is free to the public, however registration is required. The first 60 attendees to register will receive a free trolley ride to each tour location.

Other participants may participate in the tour in their own vehicles.

The tour will conclude at The Akron Zoo where lunch will be served.
