CLEVELAND — In an effort to protect the child, the name of Amanda Berry’s daughter will be redacted from all public records.

The girl was born in captivity while Berry was being held against her will in a Seymour Avenue home for about a decade.

Berry was kidnapped by Ariel Castro a day before her 17th birthday in April 2003.  She escaped on May 6, 2013.

During that time, Berry was raped and tortured by Castro, who fathered the child.

The state’s motion to redact the name went undisputed by the defense.

Castro was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole plus 1,000 years after pleading guilty to numerous charges including kidnapping and rape.

He hanged himself in his single-bunk cell at the Correctional Reception Center in Orient, Ohio earlier this month.

Michelle Knight and Gina DeJesus were also abducted, abused and held in the home under Castro’s control.
