BAINBRIDGE, Ohio — A boil alert was canceled as of 2:30 a.m. Monday after a water main break that occurred Saturday afternoon.

The break happened after a car hit a fire hydrant at 8008 Chagrin Road, according to the Geauga County Department of Resources.

Crews had to shut the water main down at the break and allow the Bainbridge water tower to drain. The break was repaired by 11:45 p.m. Saturday, but the majority of the Bainbridge water system was without water until repairs were complete.

Anyone with questions on the boil alert is asked to call the Department of Water Resources at  440-279-1971 .
