CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Division of Police is investigating after a 14-year-old girl reported an incident that happened on her way to school.

She said she was in the area of Parkwood and Superior when a man jumped out of the bushes at her.

It happened around 8 a.m. The girl was not hurt.

People are reacting.

“It’s plenty of young girls that walk this area and young kids, my son’s age, that walk this area, with no real supervision. These kids are left sometimes to go home by themselves or to come to school by themselves and we need more supervision from parents,” said parent George Beard.

“It happens every day. Every day it’s the same thing: some kid gets snatched or someone getting shot. It’s always something around here. So, it’s not surprising to me, just need some more supervision by parents in the neighborhood around here,”  said neighbor, Larry Blake.

Officers looked for the suspect but did not find him.

He was said to be wearing a black, hooded G-Unit sweatshirt and black pants.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Fifth District Detective Bureau at (216) 623-5518.
