Cause ‘Undetermined’ in Fire That Killed Man, 5 Children in Tiffin

TIFFIN, Ohio– New details have been released in the mobile home fire that killed a man and five children over the weekend in Tiffin.

Authorities said on Friday that there was no evidence of a criminal act; but there was evidence of both smoking and burning candles in the area where the fire started.

There were working smoke detectors in the home.

The cause of the fire has been ruled officially undetermined.

Timothy Fresch, 25; Tiara Angel, 6; Stormie Huey, 5; Trinity Huey, 4; Sunshine Huey, 3; and Domonic Fresch, 2, all died in the fire.

It started just before 8 a.m., Sunday, at Highland Estates Trailer Park on Sandusky St. in Seneca County.

Fresch’s girlfriend– the children’s mother– was at work at the time.
