BERKELEY, CA — The Ohio State Buckeyes didn’t seem to suffer without their starting quarterback Braxton Miller Saturday. Kenny Guiton got his first start as quarterback for the Bucks on the road against Cal.

Ohio State got off to an explosive lead. The Bucks were ahead 21-7 halfway through the first quarter.

OSU had some trouble handling California’s fast-paced offense, but controlled the lead, 31-20 heading into the half. By halftime, Ohio State’s offense, led by Guiton, had 365 yards.

The Bucks controlled the second half, coming out on top with the 52-34 win.

Next week, Ohio State will face Florida A&M at home in Columbus.
