NORTHFIELD, Ohio — A large turnout is expected for the Hard Rock Rocksino job fair Thursday, meaning those attending should expect traffic.
The new gaming facility is scheduled to open in mid-December.
“We can spend $268 million to build this facility and do lots of marketing programs, but at the end of the day, our biggest asset is our people,” said Jon Lucas from the Hard Rock.
Between the hours of 1 and 7 p.m. on September 12, anyone interested in learning more about the approximately 700 positions can visit Northfield Park.
The racing facility is on the same property as the 200,000 sq ft Hard Rock.
They’re looking to fill full and part-time jobs on the gaming floor, bars, restaurants, concert arena, comedy club and at the new Hard Rock Cafe.
The focal point of the new facility will be a 70,000 sq ft gaming floor and more than 2,200 VLTs, which are slot machines monitored by the Ohio Lottery.
“Hard Rock has the iconic name. One of the things very closely related to the Hard Rock name is its service and we’re looking for people that are ready to deliver some great service and a great experience,” said Lucas.
Gary Smith from Akron has been unemployed for several months and plans to attend the informational session. “I’m looking at it as a whole new career. I feel like it would be very exciting to be involved with the Hard Rock group,” said Smith.
According to Smith, the Rocksino will provide a new opportunity for many Northeast Ohioans looking for a job or a career change.
“When I noticed they’re having a job fair up here, it brought a lot of interest in me,” said Smith. “I’ve always liked the gaming industry and everything like that. I found that to be very interesting, so I feel like it’d be a good chance to try.”
The Hard Rock Rocksino is located at 10705 Northfield Road in Northfield.
The job fair will be held inside Northfield Park.
