Man Charged in Stabbing Incident Near Grocery Store

BRUNSWICK, OH — Brunswick Police have charged a man in connection with a stabbing near a local grocery store.

According to police, the victim was stabbed in a wooded area near Buehler’s Fresh Foods on Center Road just after 3:00 p.m. Wednesday.

The victim is being treated for his injuries at Southwest Hospital.

Police said the suspect was taken into custody in a wooded area on Aylesworth Dr. in Brunswick just after 7 p.m Wednesday.

27-year-old Karl Phelps has been charged with felonious assault for the crime. Another suspect was charged with tampering with evidence.

The case remains under investigation.
