Woman Sentenced in Antifreeze Death Case
CLEVELAND — The woman who killed her boyfriend by poisoning his iced tea was sentenced Wednesday to life in prison.
Holly McFeeture has the possibility of parole after 30 years.
A judge denied an earlier motion to throw out the guilty verdict.
McFeeture was found guilty of aggravated murder in the 2006 death of Matthew Podolak one month ago.
A tip from McFeeture’s more recent boyfriend allowed police to charge her.
That man testified that McFeeture told him years after Podolak’s death that she “put something” in his drink.
Last week McFeeture’s attorneys filed a motion asking the judge to delay her sentence and grant her a new trial because the key witness, the boyfriend who says she confessed, isn’t credible and the “prosecution knew it.”
McFeeture and Podolak had two children together, ages 9 and 7 now.
She also has another child from a previous relationship.
