EASTLAKE, Ohio– Police in Eastlake are investigating a report of an attempted abduction.

They said a 12-year-old boy reported that he was on Forest Drive around 10:30 Saturday night when a man in a bright red pickup truck pulled up alongside him and asked for help finding his missing dog.

When the boy said no, the man reportedly got out of his truck and tried to grab the child.

The boy was able to get away on his bike. He said the truck sped off.

The child described the suspect as a white male, in his 50s, tall (approximately 6’3″-6’4″,) with a thin build, wearing a white tank top and torn jeans.

The boy also said the suspect had blonde or grayish hair and beard, had tattoos on his arms and what appeared to be scratches on the side of his face.

The child said the truck was rusted out, had dents and the driver side headlight was broken out. The pickup also had a red cap on the bed.

The entire area was checked.
