East Cleveland Victim Loved to Read
EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office on Wednesday officially released the name of a third victim whose body was found in East Cleveland.
Shirellda Terry, 18, of Cleveland, disappeared on July 10 as she was walking home from her job at an elementary school.
Her family organized searches and handed out flyers, hoping Terry was out there somewhere.
Her body was found in a garage at the end of last week. Shortly afterward, the bodies of Angela Deskins, 38, and Shetisha Sheeley, 28, were found in separate locations in the same neighborhood.
The cause and manner of the deaths were still unknown.
Terry was remembered as a young woman who loved to read. Her family expressed gratitude to all of the people who helped them search for her over the past few weeks.
They hope to one day establish a scholarship in their loved one’s memory.
Convicted sex offender Michael Madison, 35, is in jail, charged with three counts of kidnapping and three counts of aggravated murder.
He served prison time in 2002 for attempted rape.
The East Cleveland Police Department released the following statement on its Facebook page Tuesday night: “The East Cleveland Police Department would like to offer our deepest sympathies to the families of this horrific event. Telecommunication Officers, Patrol Officers, and Detectives have strived to bring the truth to light. You will continue to be in our families prayers as you go through this most difficult time.”
