AKRON, Ohio — People in the Akron area may notice some discoloration in their water this week as the Water Distribution Division flushes local hydrants.

While the discoloration is likely, the water should not be used until it runs clear.

The hydrant flushing will take place from 7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. all this week in several areas, including:  Akron, Bath, Coventry, Fairlawn, Hudson, Mogadore and Montrose.

Customers may call an automated phone system to get a daily update on the streets that will be flushed by dialing (330) 375-2554 then selecting “frequently asked questions.”

People with other questions or in need of assistance may call (330) 375-2420.
