Medina BOE Passes Resolution to Place Levy on Ballot

MEDINA, Ohio– The Medina Board of Education passed a resolution Monday night to place a 5.9 mill, 5-year emergency levy on the November ballot.

The levy will address the $1.8 million spending deficit that the district is facing in 2014.

The board said if the levy does not pass, it would likely have to close an elementary school building, among other cuts.

The levy would cost the owner of a $100,000 home about $17 a month.

Collection for the levy would being in 2014.
