Alcohol Suspected in Serious Crash

TIFFIN, Ohio — The Fremont Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said alcohol was believed to be a factor in a crash that sent a 52-year-old to the hospital.

The victim’s vehicle was struck and forced off the road when a 34-year-old lost control while heading northbound on SR 53 in Tiffin near County Road 38.

It happened around 8:10 p.m. Monday.

The victim was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center with serious injuries.  His condition was not listed as of Tuesday morning.

The crash remained under investigation.
