Ryan Kralik and Ruth Eimers

PORTAGE CO., Ohio — Two have been arrested as part of a nationwide crack-down on the distribution of bath salts.

According to the Portage County Drug Task Force, Ryan M. Kralik, 32, and Ruth C. Eimers, 36, both formerly of Kent, were arrested Wednesday. They both face a multi-count federal indictment for violating federal drug laws.

The charges come after U.S. Department of Homeland Security executed a federal search warrant at Kralik’s Church Street residence in Newton Falls in February. Police recovered bath salts and packaging materials used in the distribution of bath salts.

Police said Kralik was operating an international drug smuggling operation, receiving bath salts from China and distributing bath salts over the internet through a web site he set up called “Freshsalts.”

They’ll face a judge in federal court Thursday.
