A recent court ruling could put an end to unpaid internships in New York.

A federal judge ruled that Fox Searchlight Pictures violated minimum wage and overtime laws during the production of the 2010 film, ‘Black Swan.’

The judge says Fox should have paid two interns who filed the lawsuit because they did the same work as regular employees.

Fox attorneys argue the two interns received a greater benefit in experience. They plan to appeal the ruling.

There are more than one million unpaid internships offered each year.
