CLEVELAND– Police announced details of its gun buyback program to be held this weekend.

Police said people interested in the program should bring a working handgun or semi-automatic rifle to Public Safety Central at 2001 Payne Ave. on Saturday, June 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Police said the weapon must be unloaded in a clear plastic bag inside a second container. Pack ammunition separately.

They also said the weapon must be transported in the trunk of your vehicle.

Officers will inspect the weapon to make sure it’s operable.

If it is, a $100 gift card will be given to those who turn in a handgun and a $200 gift card to those who turn in a semi-automatic rifle. A pair of Cavalier and Lake Erie Monsters tickets will also be given and you’ll be entered into a raffle for a chance to win $1000.
