Black Bear Spotted in Stow Neighborhood

STOW, Ohio — Black bear sightings are in full effect this summer with sightings reported all over northern Ohio.

The latest occurred at around 8 a.m. Monday in Stow, just west of State Route 91 in the Heather Hills neighborhood, according to the Stow Police Department’s Facebook page.

Last month, Stow residents reported a bear sighting on Gates Lane.

In the last week, bears have been spotted everywhere from Wickliffe to Austinburg Township.

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources says black bears are usually fearful of people. However, if you see a bear, keep your distance and never approach the animal.
