NORTH CANTON, Ohio -- Kent State University extended its thanks to a cab driver and her dispatcher after a passenger threatened to blow up the university.

Thursday, Kent State representatives presented Misty Smead and her dispatcher Jimmy Williams with a token of their appreciation.

Louis Koleszar, 53, hopped into Smead's taxi at the Akron-Canton airport Tuesday.

As they headed east, Smead said Koleszar rambled about 9-11 and said he was on the third phase of a mysterious plan. But when he threatened to bomb Kent State, Smead managed to get a distress call to dispatcher Jimmy Williams.

Smead met up with police with the help of Williams. Koleszar was arrested without incident.
