AKRON, Ohio — Detectives in Akron are looking for the suspect wanted in a drive-by, double shooting early Thursday morning.

It happened at around 2 a.m. at the intersection of Thurston Street and South Hawkins Avenue.

That’s where Akron police say a 47-year-old woman and 29-year-old man were shot in their car by a man on a motorcycle.

The two had reportedly argued with the suspect earlier in the night at a bar in the 500 block of Vernon Odom Boulevard. When the man and woman left, the suspect allegedly followed them to the aforementioned intersection.

Investigators say the suspect pulled next to victims and fired several shots into their car. The suspect, described as 25-35 years old, 5’8″, and between 170-180 pounds, took off on his motorcycle in an unknown direction.

The woman was shot in the hip. The man was struck in his shoulder. Both were taken to Akron General Medical Center. Police said their injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.

Further details were not immediately released.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Akron Police Department.
