My Town: Kirtland Kiwanis Strawberry Festival

KIRTLAND, Ohio — The city of Kirtland is again celebrating one of the oldest festivals in Lake County.

The 53rd annual Kirtland Kiwanis Strawberry Festival will be held Thursday, June 13 through Sunday, June 16. The festival is free and will be held at Kirtland Schools located at 9250 Chillicothe Road.

The celebration of strawberries began in 1960 as Home Days, and proceeds from the festival are used to fund scholarships, programs, recreational groups, local law enforcement, churches and the less fortunate in the community.

The daily festival time schedule is as follows:

  • Thursday, 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Friday, 5:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Sunday, 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

 

Food and events will include a grand opening parade on Saturday, strawberry infused foods, a flea market, arts and crafts, rides, live entertainment, the Miss Kirtland contest, and more.
