CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio — A kidnapping suspect has been arrested more than 10 days after officials say he abducted a woman at gunpoint, then forced her to travel to southern Ohio.

Anthony L. Phillips, 35, formerly of Coventry Township, is charged with kidnapping, menacing by stalking and telecommunication harassment. Deputies arrested him in Cuyahoga Falls on Thursday. His weapon was recovered.

According to the Summit County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened on May 20. The woman told police Phillips assaulted and threatened her during the ordeal.

She was later able to escape his control and call for help.

Phillips is being held in the Summit County Jail.
