A nearly 14-vehicle pile-up backed up traffic on Interstate 80 westbound for several miles in the Strongsville and North Royalton areas for hours Friday night.
As of 10:30 p.m., all westbound lanes had reopened.
According to Ohio Turnpike officials, it happened near exit 173. A crash was reported to the Elyria post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol at about 6 p.m. The crash eventually caused a pile-up, said police.
At least 14 vehicles were involved, according to police, and multiple ambulances were needed for several victims.
Conditions on the victims have not yet been released. Traffic was stopped on the turnpike from Interstate 71 to Interstate 77 at times.
