Lost Dog Found 500 Miles From Home

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — A dog that disappeared in Indiana was found 500 miles away from home.

Jasmine the dog ran away from home after slipping out of her collar more than three weeks ago.

Her owner Karen Stievenhart checked every animal shelter in Terre Haute, but had no luck.

A few days ago, Karen finally got a call from a shelter; Jasmine had turned up in Atlanta, Georgia.

That microchip helped the family find Jasmine.

The Stievenhart’s still have no idea how Jasmine made it to Atlanta.

They think she may have hitched a ride.
