CONCORD TWP., Ohio — A Concord man riding his motorcycle was killed after colliding with a Jeep early Sunday.

According to the Chardon Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, it happened on state Route 608 at the intersection of Girdled Road in Lake County just before 12:30 a.m.

According to reports, a 1996 Yamaha Royal Star was traveling northbound on state Route 608. As it approached the intersection of Girdled Road, a 2004 Jeep Liberty heading east failed to yield at the stop sign at state Route 608 and Girdled Road.

The Jeep pulled in to the intersection and hit the motorcycle on the left side, causing the rider to be ejected from the bike.

The motorcyclist, Frank Ernst, 64, of Concord, was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. He was not wearing a helmet, according to reports.

Dennis Semick, 47, of Mentor, was driving the Jeep. He was not injured.
