MASSILLON, Ohio — It’s been almost two years since a Stark County marine made the ultimate sacrifice for his country’s freedom.

The Perry High School graduate was killed trying to disarm a roadside bomb in Afghanistan in August 2011.

Friday night, a stretch of Tuscarawas Street West was renamed the Sergeant Daniel Patron Memorial Highway.

Many of Daniel’s family friends and fellow marines attended the dedication ceremony.
