CLEVELAND — A new development came to light Friday in the March 24 stabbing death of Cleveland Clinic nurse Aliza Sherman, who was killed outside of her lawyer’s office in downtown Cleveland.

Prominent Cleveland attorney Niki Schwartz confirms he has been hired by Aliza Sherman’s estranged husband, Dr. Sanford Sherman.

At the time of the Beachwood woman’s death, she and her husband were in the middle of divorce proceedings.

No suspects have been identified in the slaying of the mother of four, but police did release surveillance video of a person whose face was concealed running from the scene.

Niki Schwartz declined comment on the specifics of the case, or why he has been retained by Dr. Sherman.
