CLEVELAND — Crews were hard at work Friday afternoon, removing the ‘Cleveland Browns Stadium’ title from the now ‘FirstEnergy Stadium.’

Crews were removing the letters from the side of the building to make way for the new ‘FirstEnergy Stadium’ sign.

The Browns were given the rights to sell the stadium’s name when the team came back in 1999.

The former owners, the Lerner family, had not sold those rights, but new owner Jimmy Haslam announced the deal with FirstEnergy in January.

This is the first time in Browns history that a corporate name will refer to the home of the orange and brown.
