COLUMBUS, Ohio — According to Ohio State University police, a man faces charges after he allegedly parachuted off of a tower on the campus Friday.

Lt. Kelly Gray said a man climbed the tower and then parachuted off, landing in a field below, just before 5:30 p.m. He was arrested about 10 minutes later.

James Hare, 22, of Pickerington, was charged with a count of criminal trespassing in the case.

Gray said Hare was not injured and that he is not a student at OSU.

Gray said it’s the only time he’s aware of that someone parachuted from the nearly 900-foot-tall tower.
