N. Olmsted Hit-and-Run: Male Surrenders
NORTH OLMSTED, Ohio — The North Olmsted Police Department said Friday a male surrendered in the case of a teen who was killed in a hit-and-run.
At a news conference, police also said there was evidence that connected the male to the accident.
At the time of this report his name was not released. He was not charged and had not been arrested.
The victim, Malik Adams, 15, was found the night of May 2 on Brookpark Road near the Target and Walmart entrances.
Investigators were first unsure of how Adams died, but later determined he was struck by a vehicle.
Chief Jamie Gallagher said the subject realized the extent of the accident after seeing media coverage.
He was cooperative and remorseful, according to police.
The male also took officers to the vehicle, which will be examined by BCI and the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The case will be reviewed by the city prosecutor to determine if charges will be filed.
