CLEVELAND — A truck driver accused of damaging a pedestrian bridge over I-90 last month was found guilty Thursday.

Michael Edwards, 35, entered a plea of no contest on charges of failure to control and driving an unsafe vehicle. The court found him guilty and ordered him to pay a $300 fine. The charge of shifting loose loads was dropped.

The bridge over I-90 between East 260th Street and East 152nd Street was severely damaged and had to be taken down after the crash on March 9, when the truck’s raised trailer knocked the structure off its foundation.

I-90 in that area was closed in both directions for the entire weekend as crews dismantled the bridge and cleared the roadway of debris.
