Can the taste of beer make you feel better? A new study suggests so.

The taste of beer alone, without its alcohol effects, can trigger the release of dopamine in the brain, according to the Huffington Post.

Researchers gave a group of men a tiny taste of beer. As the men sipped, the researchers scanned the men’s brains. The study found that after a taste of beer, the men’s brains released the pleasure chemical dopamine.

The effect was even greater among men who had a family history of alcoholism.
