Suspect Charged in Wickliffe Shooting

WICKLIFFE, Ohio — The man accused of shooting his roommate twice in the head has been charged.

The shooting happened Saturday afternoon in the 1700 block of East 290th Street.

According to the Wickliffe Police Department, 53-year-old Kevin Cox has been charged with one count of attempted murder. He is being held at the Lake County Jail on a $500,000 bond.

The victim, 56-year-old Lawrence Barichon, is in critical condition. But police say he is alert and talking.

Police have not released details on a motive of the shooting.
