Duped Man Learns His New ‘Toy Poodles’ Aren’t Dogs
ARGENTINA — It’s a deal that might seem too good to be true.
And a bargain hunter at a giant bazaar in Argentina learned that the “toy poodles” he purchased at a fraction of the normal cost are just that.
According to the Daily Mail, the man recently bought what he thought were two toy poodle for a discounted price.
But when he took his new “pups” to the vet, he learned they were actually ferrets — also called Brazilian rats — that were given steroids to make them larger, according to reports. Then they were groomed so their hair resembled a poodle’s.
The man hasn’t filed a complaint but was featured on a TV station in Argentina, according to the Daily Mail.
A toy poodle can cost over $1,000 in the United States.
