Wickliffe Victim Shot Twice in Head

WICKLIFFE, Ohio — The Wickliffe Police Department said a 56-year-old man who was shot twice in the head Saturday is expected to survive.

Officers were called to the 1700 block of East 290th Street at 11:26 a.m.

The victim ran to a neighbor’s house and was then taken to an area hospital where he was undergoing surgery.

The 53-year-old suspect remained in the home where the shooting occurred.  Officers surrounded it and contacted the man by cell phone.

He surrendered around 12:17 p.m. and was taken into custody.

Police said the men were roommates and that they had determined a motive, but it was not released at the time of this report.

The names of those involved were also being withheld.

Police officers from Euclid, Willowick and Willoughby Hills assisted the Wickliffe Police Department at the scene.

The suspect is expected to be arraigned Monday on charges related to the shooting.  He will be held in the Wickliffe City Jail.
