- 4 lbs chicken wings – separated at joints, discard tips
- ¼ c. lemon juice
- 2 tbs Frank’s hot sauce
- 1 tbs garlic powder
- 1 tbs onion powder
- 2 tsp salt
- 2 tsp fresh ground black pepper
- 1 tsp dried thyme leaves lightly crushed
- ¼ tsp cayenne
- 4 tbs melted butter
Preheat oven 500F
Toss wings with lemon juice and hot sauce in a large wide bowl.
In a small bowl, combine garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper and thyme. Mix together, then distribute evenly over top of wings. Toss wings to mix in seasonings.
Stir cayenne into melted butter then pour over wings. Toss wings a couple times with tongs or a couple of large forks to distribute butter – not too much or butter will ball up with herbs and not stick to wings.
Pour wings on to a foil covered or greased baking sheet, spread them out and bake 20 to 25 minutes. All ovens differ in terms of heat, but you will know they’re done when some of the edges color nicely.
