My Town: Cleveland Aquarium Adopts Edgewater Beach
CLEVELAND — The city’s Edgewater Beach is getting a major cosmetic overhaul thanks to an adoption program with the Alliance for the Great Lakes.
The Greater Cleveland Aquarium has adopted Edgewater and will be holding several community clean ups to restore the Lake Erie beach. According to the Alliance, Ohio beaches are the second most polluted beaches in the country. Recently, Cuyahoga County took the top spot as having the most polluted beaches in the state. Lorain County previously held that spot.
The Greater Cleveland Aquarium has scheduled the following dates and times for Edgewater Beach clean ups:
- April 27th from 9AM-12PM
- May 30th from 5:30PM-9PM
- August 14th from 5:30PM-8:30PM
- September 21st from 9AM-12PM
Anyone can help clean the beach by registering here, however volunteers under 18 will also need a parent’s or guardian’s permission.
Questions regarding clean ups can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.
