(CNN) — Lollapalooza founder Perry Farrell is bringing The Cure to Chicago this August.

The Jane’s Addiction musician revealed Monday that the band is part of a major lineup for Lollapalooza 2013, which will be held in the Windy City’s Grant Park from August 2 — 4.

“The first time I ran into Robert Smith of The Cure was 1997 in New York City,” Farrell said in a statement. “We were both going into the same club; and it was Halloween. I was dressed as myself and so was he. I am so happy The Cure have finally arrived at Lolla in Chicago!”

In addition to The Cure, Lolla 2013 headliners include The Killers; Mumford & Sons; Nine Inch Nails; Phoenix; The Postal Service; New Order; Queens of the Stone Age; The Lumineers; and The National.

The Killers will open the first day of the three-day event, during which Nine Inch Nails will make their first return to the fest since 2008. Mumford will lead the second day, which will also boast shows from The Postal Service, The National and The Lumineers.

The eclectic list of performers certainly doesn’t end there: Kendrick Lamar; Ellie Goulding; Lana Del Rey; Eric Church; Matt & Kim; Grizzly Bear; Azealia Banks; Tegan & Sara; 2 Chainz; Cat Power; Band of Horses; and Hot Chip are all billed to entertain the Lolla crowds.

The Cure will shut down day three with help from Phoenix, Vampire Weekend, Knife Party and Major Lazer.

Three-day passes for the festival, which is now in its ninth year in Chicago’s Grant Park, have already sold out. Single day passes go on sale Wednesday, April 3 at 10 a.m. CST. To see the full 2013 lineup, visit Lollapalooza.com.
