The Cavaliers lost their 9th straight game on Monday night.

The Atlanta Hawks got the best of them on their home court, 102-94, as Cleveland was without the services of all-star guard Kyrie Irving.

He was held out of the game to avoid any kind of re-injury to his sprained shoulder after scoring 31 in a Sunday night loss in New Orleans.

The Cavs trailed by eight points at the half and got within two points in the third quarter, 60-58 on two Tyler Zeller free throws, but Atlanta asserted themselves and built the lead back to 11 points by the end of the third.

Atlanta withstood a late Cleveland surge for the win.

The Hawks were led by Devin Harris, who gunned home 25 points. Jeff Teague had 19 and Josh Smith 18.

The Cavs’ Marreese Speights was strong from the field, hitting 11 of 15 shots en route to 23 points.
