MIDDLEFIELD, Ohio -- A former Cardinal High School math teacher has been charged after accusations that he inappropriately touched several female students.

Samuel Paskey, 44, of Cortland, faces three counts of sexual imposition.

According to Matt Galemmo, Geauga County superintendent of schools, Paskey was placed on administrative leave on Feb. 26 after several female students reported some inappropriate touching to the principal.

The incidents allegedly occurred at various school events and functions on school grounds, said Galemmo.

The school district further investigated and turned its information over to police.

Paskey negotiated a letter of separation with the district and resigned effective March 13.

Paskey ran for mayor of Cortland in 2011, but was defeated by current Mayor Curt Moll.

Paskey is set to be arraigned Wednesday. The charges are third degree misdemeanors.
