Giant Eagle said a fuel mix-up may be affecting some drivers.

A spokesperson said the supplier of GetGo fuel, Bulk Terminal Storage out of Aurora, provided shipments to two Northeast Ohio locations of 87 octane gasoline that were mistakenly mixed with diesel fuel at the terminal.

The two affected sites are on Medina Road in Fairlawn and Lincoln Way East in Massillon.

One person affected by this has reached out to FOX 8, saying the gas he got at the Fairlawn location damaged his car.

Giant Eagle and GetGo “apologize for any inconvenience caused by this supplier error, and the company is working diligently to satisfy its affected customers. GetGo offers the highest quality fuels, and all fuels sold at GetGo are 100% guaranteed.”

Customers who purchased either 87 or 89 octane fuel at one of those two locations before noon Tuesday morning may contact Giant Eagle at 1-800-553-2324 to process a claim for fuel system repairs.
