Police Arrest Woman Wanted in Bank Robbery

EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio — Authorities say they have a woman in custody who is suspected of robbing a bank in East Cleveland over the weekend.

According to the East Cleveland Police Department, a man called police after seeing the woman he recognized from the news.

Police say the 57-year-old woman targeted the US Bank on Forest Hills Boulevard around 12:15 p.m. Saturday.

Det. Sgt. James Ruth with the East Cleveland Police Department said the woman claimed she had a gun but never showed it.

She gave the teller a note, demanded it back, then left on foot.
