Brunswick Condo Fire Victim Identified

BRUNSWICK, Ohio — Officials are investigating the cause of an early morning condo fire that took the life of an elderly woman.

According to Rick Barber with the Brunswick Fire Department, the call came in around 4:45 a.m. as a medical alarm. Police arrived to 4699 Doral Drive to find a working fire.

Barber says 78-year old Delia Kuzda died after becoming trapped inside a bathroom. Kuzda was confined to a wheelchair.

Residents in the surrounding units were evacuated. As of Wednesday afternoon, several were still displaced.

According to the press release, there is $250,000 in damages.
