MORELAND HILLS, Ohio — Moreland Hills Police Chief Thomas Flauto has been placed on unpaid leave, according to Mayor Susan Renda.

As our I-Team first reported earlier this month, Flauto has been indicted on a felony charge of improper use of a state computer.

According to subpoenas sent to the village by state officials, investigators were asking about a license plate. Sources say a person close to former Cuyahoga County Commissioner Jimmy Dimora asked the chief to run the plate.

State law states law enforcement officials can only use the state computer for official use.

Flauto and his attorney said he did nothing wrong.
