CLEVELAND, Ohio — A large marijuana growing operation was seized by narcotics detectives in Cleveland Friday.
According to a press release, police executed a search warrant at 5718 Harvard Ave. just before 10:30 a.m. Friday. Inside, they found high-end cultivating equipment, including motorized track lighting that moved from side to side continuously delivering the light needed for quickened growth.
Police said the operation handled the whole process from growing seedlings to packaging the marijuana for wholesale.
Over 800 marijuana plants were also confiscated.
A second search warrant was obtained and executed in Broadview Heights. There, Steven Schiff, 43, was arrested, and several pounds of marijuana and $15,000 was seized along with a pistol.
Police said that as a result of the two search warrants, information was developed and several high-powered weapons were seized on Cleveland’s East Side.
Schiff faces charges of felony cultivating marijuana.
